Good Morning!

TESTIMONY TUESDAY: WHY WE MUST LOOK UP!

Vic suffered his first cardiac arrest in July 2013.  Four months later, in November 2013 I was laid off from my job (after the company I worked for went bankrupt) with no severance and no savings because our finances had been depleted from the medical bills from Vic's surgery, hospitalization and post care.

I work in professional services (tech and digital marketing) and the company I worked for had embezzled hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of dollars from a number of our clients - one of which was mine (an Ivy League graduate school of education ) and I had to be the one to make the call to let my client know what the company had taken from her school so that she would have the heads up to help save her job.  That was one of the hardest phone calls I have ever had to make but let me just tell you how The Lord showed out!  When I called my client, "Miss B," after she got over the initial shock the first thing she asked me was "what about your husband, and the medical bills, are you guys going to be okay?"  She then proceeded to tell me that she was so appreciative that I would call and be honest with her about what my company had done that she wanted to hire me directly as a consultant to finish the work my company was supposed to complete under our contract!  I worked as a consultant for her for over a year and was paid more than enough to sustain us until I found a full time job.  I was able to continue my work with Miss B and the graduate school until she left the institution late last year, and to this day she is a mentor and very good friend of mine.

Now for the good part...

Earlier this year, Vic and I realized that Miles was delayed in his speech. My mom recommended a friend of hers that she met at church, "Miss L", who was a very well respected Speech Therapist.  Would you believe that Miss L (who is now working with Miles twice a week) was a student at the same graduate school of education that Miss B worked at while she was my client at the former company I worked for?! Yes, the same client who 5 years ago blessed my family with steady income when we needed it most.  The same client who I would work twelve hour days for to produce marketing campaigns to attract professionals like Miss L who had a passion for early childhood education and developmental intervention, of which I had no idea 5 years ago my very own child would need!  And might I add, the very child I wouldn't even have if Vic hadn't survived the cardiac arrest in the first place! WON'T HE DO IT Y'ALL!!!

My mom could have chosen another church to attend and perhaps she would have never met Miss L.  Miss L could have chosen another graduate school of education to attend and perhaps the impact that she's had on my son wouldn't have been so personal .  Miss B could have decided to take her business elsewhere and who knows where that would have left Vic and I.  But I believe The Lord was sowing seeds here.   I didn't even know the seed I was sowing when I worked my butt off for that client, but I know that I know that I KNOW now that The Lord was so divinely orchestrating a blessing that my entire family would reap - including the child I didn't even know I was going to have at the time.

Listen, I'm sharing this to remind me and you that The Lord is in control, that our labor and endurance through trials is never in vain, and that the mastery of His perfect will for our lives is something far greater than we truly could ever imagine -  in Christ Jesus, we have a future and a hope!  What may appear to be complete and utter disaster today is The Lord's mighty workmanship in and through the chaos of our lives.

Don't look in, don't look at, don't look around - LOOK UP! He is a way-maker and a promise-keeper.

Don't believe me - believe HIM!
